I'm cooking 2 butts tomorrow and was thinking of doing a brisket at the same time...

Looking over posts about briskets seem to look like the same time cooking as doing the butts.

I'm using a MES40 and will be using apple chips... water filled pan.. and a tin catch pan.

I'm unsure the weight of the brisket (got it as part of a half cow I had gotten a while back)...

should I put the brisket on first and wait an hour or so before the butts or put the butts on first for an hour or so?

Sorry for the nrewbie questions for insite... thx...

They both should take the same amount of time. If the brisket is real large it may take a few hours longer. I would use chunks instead of chips and something stronger like hickory, could also mix apple and hickory. Butt I use a WSM, never used a MES.

Hope this helps
