Don't think I've ever had anything besides
Vidalia sweet onions, but I did date a girl 25+ years ago who claimed to have been a runner up in the "Miss Walla Walla Sweet Onion" pageant. Never knew if it was true or not, but she was a lot of fun.

There is also the Texas 10-15 that is a sweet mild onion, I think the Noonday is a spin off of that originally .

My neighbors here in waitsburg sell them all summer, they have lots of other veggies too and there is a full meat processing facility behind their house. they make bacon and hams and cut up your wild game too.. The best ones are the candy sweets which they will have real soon. I scored mine from a farmer in walla walla. I am 9 miles southwest of dayton.

Nothing too fancy. I could not get all the pictures to load. Last time I try to post from this stupid windows phone. Can't wait to get something else. one more year. I ran out of pickles so had to use homemade pickled asparagus from walla walla. Man oh man. The missing pictures are the plated shots. Darn it.

It turned off cold all weekend and froze this morning so I think they might be on hold for a little while until it warms up again. There should be a pretty good crop this year as we have had a lot more rain than last spring.

I grow my own onions and have grown Walla Walla sweet onions BUT IMHO Candy Hybrids are the best onions there are !!!!!

Well then. That's what comes first around here then the Walla Walla sweets. Some years they are outstanding and some times they are only excellent.
