Burgers!

    Don't know about anyone else, but cast iron is the only way i cook an 80/20 burger. (

    Cast Iron is nice. Try Smoking them at 225*F until the IT is 100-110*F then a quick Sear in the CI Pan to the desired doneness. They are awesome...JJ
     
  6. CI is one of the best cooking vessels. Smoked then reverse seared burgers are awesome!

    Sorry but I'm a grill guy for burgers

    I have done them on my CI Skillet and like them that way as well but still prefer the grill.

    Look what i started!.. I plan on trying the smoker, reverse sear as soon as i get more familiar with my MES. What wood do you guys smoke chopped meat with? I really dont want to overpower the meat. I love a juicy med rare burger.

    Lol, i have a smoked burger thread going and you throw this up lol.

    I use pitmasters blend in the amazn pellet smoker.

    You could use apple or maple. A softer smoke.

    LOL---I use Hickory, but I use Hickory for everything---I love it so!!!

    I cannot wait for fathers day. If that amnps and pitmaster blend is not  one of my presents, i'm taking my smoker and running away from home!

    Have you thought of 'begging' [​IMG]  Seems to work for me. Or constantly dropping hints , or posting to friend Facebook. [​IMG]

    My best idea is the Pout ,[​IMG]  . After so long, she just gives-in or gives me that EVIL 'don't go there' look [​IMG]

    Hope you get what you need , in case you don't get what you want.

    I am married 28 years Old School, nobody knows more about "begging" than me. And, not just for things bbq related either[​IMG]. The pout worked back in the day, but not anymore. [​IMG]  Guess i will have to go with my old standby, being extra nice, dropping subtle hints, and if that doesn't work, just buy the damn thing(s) myself!![​IMG]

  17. i have been on a apple kick for a while. pitmaster goes well with anything i have smoked. then i live in the country and have 10 acres of trees to trim and use as chunks. your MES will treat you well. ok med rare in your case[​IMG]. med rare for me too.
