I have read a bunch of forums about cutting open a propane tank. I just want to know anything else wants to tell me. what I read is that you fill it up with dawn soap and water. Any thing else I should know? all information would be great.
Flush it out a few times with your soapy water. Then refill it with soapy water. Make sure you leave the hole that you filled it with open. Say a prayer and go to cutting. If we see you around here next week. We will know it worked out for you.
Its definitely empty. I hooked it up to my grill and lit a match to start it just to be sure and it didn't light. the tank is about 12-15 years old and its the size you put on the front of a camper, the next size up from a 20 pound tank. I'm going to be doing this on Saturday or Sunday when someone is around.......just in case.....LOL
the next size up is a 30# then a 40#. You should be fine if you give it a good flush with soapy water. Then fill it up before you start to cut it. How are you planning on cutting it?
