Buikding a brick smoker

  1. Hello everyone. New to the forum. Some great stuff on here.

I've been smoking on on my napoleon appolo for over a year now and it's been a great summertime smoker but doesn't stand up well to the winter up here so I've been looking into a new project for the summer.

Ive decided to build myself a brick smoker/grill...pretty easy right? Going to be a difficult challenge but excited and think it will hold up better in the cold so i can go year round.

My question, any thoughts on an offset vs a vertical? What are the pros and cons to each? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  2. Hi and welcome to site, I've got an apollo too.  I keep toying with a brick build myself, but I can't really answer your question.  If you don't get help here try posting you question in the brick smoker section of the forum.  Good luck and good smokin'.
