Saw some buffalo wing sauce in the store today and got to thinking...how would it work as an injection or rub for a smoked turkey or chicken? Anybody tried it? Opinions?

i have tried one once that was actually made for injection a long time ago on a deep fried turkey and i thought it was pretty much just a weird taste.

I'll be doing a brisket Sunday. I may smoke a chicken on Saturday as a warmup and try the buffalo sauce as an injection. I hope it turns out OK, it would be awesome if two of my favorite flavors (wing sauce and smoke) blended as well as I am imagining.

I have used wing sauce as an injection in chicken legs for super sized wings but I cut the wing sauce with barbecue sauce and butter.
  • 4-6 ounces Louisiana Wildly Wicked wing sauce
  • 1 cup of my barbecue sauce
  • 1 stick of melted butter
You can adjust this to your taste but it is absolutely delicious in the drumsticks. I can only imagine that it would make a great injection for something larger.

If you try it be sure to let us know how it goes.

Now that something I have never tried or or even thought of but i guess it would be fine it's like a inside out buffalo wing. I really like wings too.
