Brown Sugar Whiskey Smoked Ham with Bacon Wrapped Corn

I smoked a ham and some corn not long ago for a group of friends. It was sort of a last minute get together so I didn't have time to plan anything... but everyone got fed. :)

I brushed the ham with mustard, packed with brown sugar and spritzed with crown royal whiskey.
Let the ham smoke for a couple of hours before adding the corn.
I seasoned the corn with pepper and wrapped in bacon.





I brought the ham up to 160 degrees. Then let it sit.
The corn... I picked one cob out and poked it with my finger to see if the bacon was as crisp as I like it. :)




The ham, corn, slaw, beans and fruit...

My only questions after looking at the delish spread is .. do you unwrap the corn to eat it or just chomp thru the bacony goodness to the sweet center?

1st the thread title caught my eye, then I noticed who made the post; at this point I knew I would not be disappointed to view thread. All I can say is "WOW" as usual !!!
 
bacon wrapped corn-leave it up to cowgirl! all looks great & bet they loved it.
 
3Montes, that was all I had on hand. lol I did find a bottle of brandy but thought I'd stick with the crown.

Heli, I chomp right through the bacon. I like my bacon crispy, so I leave the corn in the smoker as long as I can... The kernals that aren't covered will get a bit dry but the bacon wrapped corn is so moist and tender... it's pretty good stuff!

There's no need to add salt or season the corn, I add a bit of cracked black pepper before wrapping though.

Really like the idea of bacon wrapped corn, definitely something new to try out.
Ham looked great (as did everything else). One question though, what did you add to those beans?
My hat (if I wore one) goes off to you for another fine smoke, especially throwing together a meal like that last minute.

I'm not fond of canned beans, I hafta have the real ones soaked overnight and cooked slow and low.
These were canned, so I doctored them up with ham cubes, red pepper flakes, minced onion and garlic and some brown sugar.
If I had more time, I would have made fresh beans. :)

No one complained though. lol
