well here we are from this morning 1st pic about 2 hrs , 2n d pic about 3-4 hrs , 3rd pic about 6-7 hrs , 4th pic about 8 hrs in been spritzing with root beer .....just foiled waiting for a couple of more hours and dinner is served...
 
th ..believe it or not i gone thru 18lbs of charcaol today...and i forgot about my first post thanks for reminding me.....

cowgirl thanks first time for root beer....looks like its doing good..i had apple juice to use today but my 12yr old son decided he need it more...well better that than sweet root beer....
 
D.P., nice looking brisket. Please post on the flavor the Root Beer adds when the brisket is finished. I am not a R.B. fan, but could be ok when used as a spitz. Just interested.

I don't think the root beer will disappoint you at all, it is a great marinade, and reduced down it makes a great syrup for pumpkin pancakes!

thanks everyone for the response.....i couldn;t take a pic of the finished product as it was resting i got a call out for my job had to go out to a oil;field rig and take care of a customer and in the mean time my wife started cutting into it since we had about 13 peolple over for dinner...well i guess i can tell you it was delicious and hopefully next time i can do the q-view from start to finish...thanks everyone for the support...

short i can you tell you it is a winner.....recommend it highly ...gave the bark a kinda of sweetness to it and was real good will do it again....
 
Great looking smoke! I'm about ready for a brisket. That's what is so good about this forum. Just look over all the Qview and decide what's for dinner

i have marinaded many a pieces of beef in Dr. Pepper and they turn out great, but the root beer spritz sounds pretty good i'll have to try it out on one of my meatloaves tommorrow...nothing but stewart's
