I just found these pics on my camera, and thought I'd upload. For Fathers day my wife got me an Electric Skillet. My mom always used one when I was growin up, and it seemed to always turn out great.
I had some leftover Brisket (Brisket Post Here), and thought I'd try to find a way to use it w/ the skillet. I was looking for some recipes and found this one on the Presto site. I just swapped out their recommended Sirloin w/ my leftover brisket
Beef Stroganoff
•1-pound sirloin steak
•2 tablespoons vegetable oil
•1 (4-ounce) can mushrooms, drained
•1 envelope dry onion soup mix
•2 cups warm water
•3 cups uncooked noodles
•1 (10 1/2-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
•1 cup sour cream
Cut beef in 1/4-inch by 3-inch strips. Heat oil in electric skillet at 350°. Add beef and brown well. Push beef to side of pan. Add mushrooms and cook until golden. Stir in dry onion soup mix and water. Cover and simmer 10 minutes at 225°. Cook noodles as directed on package and drain. Add to meat mixture along with mushroom soup. Simmer 5 minutes. Stir in sour cream just before serving.
I had just enough leftover brisket to make it happen
It turned out really good for a quick/cheap stroganoff.
If anyone has any good skillet recipes, let me know. I haven't found much to try out yet online.
