Just bought this smoker and it doesn't get very hot with an extension cord.  I have a thick 6 foot cord with it I get like 150 degrees, straight into the wall socket I get 210. These temps are what I got when I cured it, so I'm thinking once I add meat and water in the pan I'll be lucky to get 120 degrees.  It is a bit windy out today but I have it sheltered from the wind pretty much. Any ideas?

I bought a new 9' 14 gage extension cord and now the temp is constant 200 degrees. I checked the gage in boiling water and it read 210 so I'm guessing it's on. I found an old oven thermometer and I put it inside on the rack and it's reading 350 degrees. A friend told me I need to buy a good digital and I'm beginning to think he's right.
