Hey all,

My name is Jason, I live in Maryland and I recently bought a Char-Griller Duo Model #5050 with the small smoker side box from Home Depot. I cooked on it all last year with propane and charcoal and want to broaden my horizons with using my smoker. I seriously know absolutely nothing about smoking meats!! I watch all these BBQ pitmasters comp. on TV and it amazes me to no end what they can do. I want to be one of those people competing. All help and info. would be welcomed!

Thanks!!

Welcome from Canada, Jason.

You've come to the right place. There is a wealth of information in the posts, many experienced members who are generous with their knowledge and lots of ideas.

I suggest you decide what you want to try and smoke and search it in the search bar. That will bring up several posts with different ways of doing that item on different rigs. You can choose one that looks right to you. If you have any questions, post them and someone will usually do their best to answer.

I also suggest you post your first few projects with pictures as  you go along. Members will chime in with suggestions and you can get to learn in real time.

Reading the new posts from the link at the bottom of the page is also good. It is like reading a Q newspaper and I get lots of good ideas.

I look forward to your posts!

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.
