I just stopped by Bass Pro Shops Saturday and saw a brand new 30" Masterbuilt smoker. I believe this model just came out a week or two ago, but I'm not sure. The price is great and I came this close to picking the thing up, but I'm still new to the game so I thought I'd ask for a few opinions first.

I gave it a good "going over" and it seems extremely well built. I latched the door close and I couldn't pry open a single gap all the way around the door no matter how hard I tried. There's no gasket to help the door seal when closed, but it's so solid I couldn't imagine it needing one. Also, I loved the inside layout of the water pan and wood chip tray. Both were very easy to remove and I really like the way the chip tray sits firmly on top of the element to ensure complete contact.

Also, the heating element is huge. That's always a good thing to ensure even heating, right? I really regret not picking one up now that I've had a few days to sit and ponder about it, but what do you guys think?

Hey my first post!!
Anyway, they have it over at QVC for 149.88 plus shipping (no tax). It also has some reviews you can pan over.

Take Care

The addition of legs is sure a bonus, I can't wait to see one of our members do a review on this one. If they fixed the few problems the MES has it could be an awesome smoker.

Please not it is NOT a digital model and it is not a new model that I know of.
