BONE IN RIB-EYES FOR SUPPER

Discussion in 'Beef' started by gary s, Jul 7, 2015.

  1. My wife is out of town, so me and the grandson are batching it. Brookshire's had

Bone in Rib-eyes on sale so I picked up a couple for supper.

I used my Steak rub  ( a copycat of Texas Roadhouse and Outback) seasoned both sides

and let sit while the grill was heating up.

    $6.99 lb.

    Pretty nice looking steaks

Some of my seasoning and waiting on the grill to get hot

Aaaah   here they are  One on the Right is Grandsons  Med. Rare  The one on the

Left is mine a nice Rare

My Plate, had to have a stuffed baked potato

    Thanks for looking

Those really look good. That great color is not something that I've seen on a ribeye before, but I'm going to try some soon with a rub like that. I just need to be real careful about the amount of fat in them. That $6.99 is a great price. Joe

Great looking steaks, Gary.  Some of the best color in a rare and med rare that I've seen in a long time.

  13. They look fantastic, Gary... Infact you've flung the cravin' on me... Think I might grill a couple up tonight, myself. Nice to see a fellow Texan eating steak the way God intended....RARE.... My lovely better half likes hers "well done" or as I like to call it, RUINED.... Tell me, do you grill over coals or wood?

Serve her a charred boot.  Same difference..

  15. I hear ya Okie.... at least I finally got her to stop putting ketchup on them. For a while I wouldn't even buy her a choice cut. She has since learned the appetizing value of a properly seasoned steak and now I cook hers a little less each time trying to aclimate her to the proper level of done-ness.

A full grill is a happy griller

  17. Both, actually 3 ways, those last night were on my gas grill,  A lot of time I'll take my ECB and use use the bottom part to grill. I take about a half a chimney of lit coals abd spread them out with a few chunks of wood.

Like boiling a frog huh?  I got lucky, my boss took to rare right away and I never had to look back.

You'll get her trained....or something like that.

  19. Thanks for the reply... Sounds like we cook in similar fashion. except for gas. I havent used propane grill in years....there is certainly nothing wrong with them, they control temp well and are a lot less work to get started... My last one had the element split on it and I just never got around to getting another.

  20. HAHAHA.... Okie, do we ever really train them?
