Greetings from southwestern Massachusetts! We just got a Brinkmann electric a few weeks ago and are excited about all of the smoking possibilities. We don't eat red meat (I know) but are looking forward to endless experimentation with poultry, fish, seafood and maybe cheese. Our first 11 lb turkey was awesome. This weekend is for salmon, jumbo shrimp and boneless chicken breasts. Looking forward to learning lots!

Welcome to the SMF family! Glad you found us. Congrats on your new smoker, sounds like your well on your way. You'll find extensive info here on smoking seafood, poultry, and cheese as well.

Thanks! I do have a question: is it possible, desireable, idiotic, nearly fatal, etc. to use the electric smoker with a dry water pan? Just wondering what would happen, both to the unit and the food, other than it obviously being less moist.

Welcome.I do not use electric, but tons of folk on forum do.

Feel free to start a new thread if your question is not answered in the roll call forum...

Thanks Alx. I'm obviously new to the forum world too. I'll start a new thread where it's supposed to be!

No biggie.I was only concerned that if your question was not answered it would get more views in the electric smoker sub-forum..

Welcome again!!!!
