Hey everyone! I am a beginner to smoking and have a few questions? I am excited that I found this and look forward to get some knowledge on smoking! I received a Big chief top loader for my 30th birthday! Not the best smoker out there but it was free and figured I have to start somewhere!
I am wanting to smoke some skinless chicken breasts for dinner tonight! Any idea on how long it will take and will I need to finish cooking it in the oven or BBQ? Any input would be greatly appreciated for this rookie! Thanks, Chris

Always cook to temperature.  For chicken safe IT is 165.  How long it takes depends on the temp of your smoker and other things.   Since you are cooking skinless breasts I think you will need some moisture to keep them from turning into hockey pucks.

Maybe let them go an hour or so in the smoker at 225 - 250 for the smoke flavor then wrap in foil with some finishing sauce and return to the oven or smoker.  Keep an eye on them, if they start to get dry out go ahead and foil them.  I hate dry chicken breast.

If you are new to smoking chicken is one of the more challenging meats but take your time and don't over cook it.   I normally cook till the juices run clear but that's with whole chickens.

Good luck and welcome to the forum

Thanks for the welcome! Really excited to start smoking some stuff! I skipped the chicken for my first time smoking and going to start with something a bit easier! My first batch of jerky is in Brine right now! Thanks Al for the info! Greatly appreciated!
