For some reason this kind of stuff always happens to me. Pretty darn funny according to my wife, so here it goes.

So I got a 10.5 lb turkey to slap on the smoker for my first try at any type of poultry. Brined it, injected it, and rubbed it down. Got everything ready and wouldn't you know it my MES keeps throwing the GFCI breakers. So now I am stuck with a ready to go turkey and a bum smoker.

Then an idea struck. I got a great new grill, why not use it. It's a small turkey so I broke out the beer can chicken rig and hooked it up. Here are the pics after about 5 min on the grill. I did add a little smoke with the foil packs in the back of the photos and I am spraying with a mixture of apple juice and bourbon. Finished pics will get posted when its, well, finished. LOL.

Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving

If you keep adding the foil packs you will be surprised how much smoke you can get into the bird. The chips burn up so fast I soak them first them foil bag them with slits it the top of the bags
Good luck and be sure to post some pics of the outcome

It's nice to have a plan B aint it!

It looks like things will work out fine. I just hope you are using a good quality bourbon...please tell me you're not using jim beam. anything but JB.

Well for having a smoker go belly up and then you kept your cool and used the other grill you seemed to have things going well for you. Ok like alex said just watch your internal temps you don't want to overcook it. I cann't wait for the outcome so please don't forget the Qview.
