I am making baked beans this weekend and the recipe calls to bake at 350 degrees for an hour. I want to smoke them with the pork butt. I smoke at 200-225 degrees. How long will I have to leave the beans in with the pork butt to equal 350 for an hour so they are done. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Shrive

don't need to worry about that aspect of it. Just heat them till they are at least 160 to 165. And they are good to go.

How do I get the thermometer in the bean? LOL jsut kidding. Thanks for the help.

Heat until hot.

I put beans in the smoker all the time with good results. Just be careful to either cover them or put them above your meat (unless you want the drippings in your beans).

I usually adjust each time depending on how wet the recipe I am using is, I don't probe them as I usually go 2-3 hours in the smoker and they always come out hot.
I have only oversmoked them once to the point people thought it was to strong, that was a full six hour rib cook on hickory

The only thing I can add is, their great the day of the smoke. But even better the next day. Just like homemade chilli

^^^^^^^^Exactly!!

An hour at 225F will heat em just fine, but leave em in until you see them bubbling, then wait about 1/2 hr after that. Perfect every time.

put those beans under your butt to catch all those drippings while the butt is cooking
