I have been smoking meats for just a few years with a short vacation in between, I had a cheap Wal-Mart stick burner and tried lots of different things. Some good results and some not so good. I finally got my rub, mop and sauce where I liked it. Then I retired and we went to Ecuador for awhile. We sold all our stuff including my smoker (bummer), We are back in the states now and I am looking at new smokers. I like the side mount firebox and have looked at the Brinkman from Home Depot. It seems to be built a little better than my Wal-Mart one. I should be getting it with my tax refund and then I will be the backyardbum again.

Anyway looking forward to learning more from all you old pros out there.

I forgot to add that I live in Eugene, or and have been here for 14 yrs

Thanks,

backyardbum

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a partly sunny and chilly day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
