I have the chance to get a backwoods party smoker that's 4 yrs old for $600 it is the first design do you all thinks it's a good smoker I have been smoking on a modified ok joe highland I moded and works good just want something I can use in the winter thanks

It's a great price for sure.
But: the cooking chamber or racks are kinda smallish on that model. A full size 15 lb brisket may not fit to easy. Better look into how big the racks are. They sure are insulated though.
 
Not sure about chicken as far as crispy skin goes. They rate their smoker for up to 300 degrees. most people like to do chicken and Turkey at 325.
Maybe someone here has one like that and can say how high it goes. Or the owner of the one for sale.
