A friend of mine told me there was a store that had 10lb boxes of Baby Backs for $24.99 so I went and snagged a box,

I am looking for new Ideas for a rub for on them  I normally just use some normal spices, SPOG and some Paprika and such

looking for something with a little zing.... not hot mind you but something good and zesty! any Ideas?

Thanks,

Harry

here is a rub I use.

you can back out the white pepper and some of the cayenne to cut the heat.
  • 3 TBS sea salt -fine
  • 3 TBS Hungarian paprika
  • 1 TBS cocoa
  • 1 tsp Chiplotle
  • 1 tsp cayenne 60k
  • 1 tsp ancho chile
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • 2 tsp granulated garlic powder
  • 2 tsp granulated onion powder
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground clove
  • 1 tsp ground white pepper
depending on the day, Use coat the ribs with brown sugar or EVO or mustard to hold the ribs

this is a jack daniels glaze sauce  i make to go over it. i usually reduce it and let sit for a day or 2 to thicken
  • 1/2 cup turbinado sugar
  • 1/4 cup JD
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1oz soy
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3 tbs worchestershire
  • 1 tbs apple Cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
it gives a nice sweet and zing taste.

i mop/foil with either a fancy mopping sauce or jsut JD/apple juice.

here is the fancy mop:
