My probe on my Taylor thermometer started acting funny and not recording temps. I figured since the whole deal was only 16 bucks I would just get a new one. Then I thought maybe I should email the company and see how to get just a new probe. I figured they are probably pretty cheap. 20 minutes after sending the email I got a reply stating that they would ship me out a new one the next day. No questions asked. Now that's what I call good customer service. Unlike Samsung who ran me through the mill for 4 days trying to get my $69 hard drive warrantied. It's nice to know good CS is not dead. It's just hard to find sometimes.

I had the same experience with Accu-Rite. I have 6 of their therms & one by one the probes went bad. I e mailed them & told them what happened. They emailed me back & said they didn't have replacement probes so they were sending me 6 brand new units with new probes. Never asked me to send in the old ones or anything. So now I have 12 Accu-Rites with 6 good probes.

Al, good to hear about the Acu rites.  I have a couple of those cheapies I have had for about 4 years.  Never had a problem with them like I did with the Maverick probe.

Scott, yes it is nice to see that kind of customer service.  Thanks to you guys and this forum, many people can consider these things when making a purchase decision.

Good luck and good smoking.
