Hello. I currently have a master built 30 inch propane smoker and love it but I will be buying the 40 inch sportsman elite from cabelas because I need the extra width. So, I don't want my old one to go to waste so I thought about cutting a hole in the top of the 40" and mounting my 30" on top and adding a shut off somehow between the two for when I want to just use the 40" lower unit. I thought this would be nice having the extra height for hanging the 24" summer sausages so they are not so close to the burner. And also if I need to really need to load it up with meat for a gathering. I don't know if this idea is dumb or not. I would take opinions or if anybody has done this they could let me know how it worked. Thanks.
