Let me tell you...applejuice on the skin....amazing!!

I like using apple with chicken. Looking forward to your finished pics.
I must say Davidhef88 that I not only love using the apple on chicken now, but I love putting apple juice on the skin.  That was probably the tastiest chicken I have ever made.

Bull,

That chicken looks awesome! Like you, I like using apple juice, sometimes mixed with 20-25% Red Stag cherry-infused bourbon, as my favorite spritz! I go back and forth between apple or cherry wood, they both add that "sweeter" and lighter smoke flavor than many others.

Great Job,

Scott

Great looking spatched bird there! I used to use apple almost exclusively for poultry. Then I stumbled upon a 50/50 mix of cherry and pecan and have found it hard to go back! Peach is another good wood for poultry, but super good on pork.

Points for that great color on your bird!

I have been using mostly cherry on about everything (often mixed with hickory, apple , sometimes even mesquite  or bourbon barrel chips) though I love apple also as a "close second"
