I haven't even asked Liz yet but I know we have been talking about a little one day gathering. After looking at all the scheduled events in the SE Louisiana and Gulf Coast area it looks like the weekend of Saturday May 12 or Sunday May 13 is a good weekend.
Is Saturday or Sunday the better day? Jazz Fest is the previous weekend, the next weekend is full of things to do on the Gulf Coast and the end of May is busy in BR and NO.
I am planning on providing the main meal either butts, poultry and/or brisket because they have to go on the smoker so early if we have dinner around 2 pm. If anyone wants to smoke ribs that is also an option because we should be able to get them off of the smoker in 6 hours or so
Anyone deciding to attend can volunteer short cook time menu items, ABTs, filled pork shots, potato salad, coleslaw, beans, desserts, drinks, or whatever else you can dream up.
I will have my Lang 36 going for the main meal but I also have an Okie Joe offset, a couple of ECBs and maybe my gas grill (heaven forbid!)
I suggest we get together the same place we had SELA, the farm in Thomas Louisiana but we are open for suggestions
You are welcome to bring your own alcohol but remember children are invited and we need to keep that in mind.
Eman and Sherie have already said they intend to be part of it
