My grandparents owned a butcher shop long ago but it closed down before I was born. I've always heard stories about the place growing up. So now that I'm older and make my own sausage I'm trying to track down the recipes they had. So far I've had zero luck until last week! My dad's cousin facebooked me and asked if I wanted a recipe from the butcher shop.

He called it vaughst sausage and it's a very basic recipe with a mix of beef and pork, salt, pepper and garlic That's it.

Anybody ever heard of this sausage before?

I haven't heard of it but it sounds great from the ingredients you listed.    I hope you make it and post the recipe, it sounds like something that would be delicious.
