About 3 weeks ago I found a deal on Craig's List for a Bradley Original Stainless Steal Electric Smoker for $50.00. The seller stated that the smoker was broken because the plug in the back of the smoke box had the ears broken off and wouldn't stay in the cabinet and that the unit would not heat. Because of this he was selling it as Non Working. When I got the unit and checked it out it had pulled the wires off and all it needed was a new male plug for the box. I called Bradley and ordered one and when I found out the cost ($4.72 ea)I ordered a spare because I hate using my credit card for purchases under $10.00. In the $50.00 price he also included a box of briquettes.

I have not yet used the unit for smoking and was wondering if anyone had any advice on the Bradley Smokers before I try using it, I don't like last minute surprises.

If their smokers are as good as their customer service, I think I am going to be tickled to death.

I have one. It's a digital 4 rack. I've had it for almost a year and have no complaints about it. What type of info are you looking for specifically? You can find the user forum for Bradleys here: http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/

Basically any tips from other users as to the operation and what kind of results to expect from it. I have read where the briquettes only burn for 20 minutes and then start a new one so I am aware of that part.

So I guess what I am asking is for any tips to get the most out of the unit and what is okay and what are definite NO-NOs.

I don't have any tips for your specific model, as I have a different one. I can tell you my 12 year old uses mine with no supervision and does very well with it.

As with any smoker with a thermometer, don't trust it to be accurate. Yes, the biskettes do last 20 minutes. If you check Amazon, they frequently have a buy 3 get one free offer for them. The only other tip I can offer is to make sure to keep the burner plate that the biskettes sit on clean. If the ash buildup gets to be too much, it will affect the feed of the biskettes.

    Hi Paul,

I have had my unit for 3 years, love it. I have only 1 complaint and that is that I can't get more that 260 to 275 degrees out of it. But thats ok.
Made a ton of tasty treats but my latest fav is Pastrami.
Recently purchased the cold smoking attachment and when the temps cool down I'll get a whole new season out of my Bradley.
    Best to you.

    Gaz

Yep, I find that you can do that a lot on Craig's List.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Thanks Gas, I am going to check on the cold smoke attachment.
