Another Smoking Newbe

I have actually been a member for a couple of weeks, so I wanted to introduce myself. I am from Northeast Texas and am currently living just south of Austin, Tx is a town called Kyle.

I have grilled all my life and have recently decided that it is time to do some real cooking aka smoking. That said, I am cheating a bit as I got an amazing deal on a Bradley Electric Smoker (it was missing a few parts) at Cabelas.

I have been using this forum for a while while searching for a smoker as well as the catfish, hot links, patotoes, and squash that I smoked last week. All turned out well except the squash was extremely smoky. I was using hickory, so I think that could have been the problem.

Anyhow, I just wanted to say Howdy from Texas! I am smoking a briskey as we speak and I hope to put up my first qview up later today.

Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to your qview. I really need to get a brisket smoked again. Today I have on a slab of beef ribs and a small butt.
