Hey!

All the way from the UK here,

I have browsed the forum plenty of times and found some really useful comments and tips on here, so finally got round to registering.

I am from Essex in the UK, I have been smoking meat for the last 4 years, I started out on a cheap offset (which was loads of fun to use) and recently upgraded to a ProQ excel which I am loving.

I make apps for a iPhones for a living and am currently looking to build one to help out with planning my cooks etc

Thanks for all the amazing content on the site! I look forward to trying to contribute

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.

Glad to have you with us Russ. We have several members here from the UK; looks like American BBQ is slowing invading the British Isles!

I would like to see what you come up with app-wise (although I'm not an iphone user); SMF is accesible on the smartphones via tapatalk.

Enjoy the Smoke!

Hello Russ, and welcome!  We're glad you've joined the family.  Its a great place to share ideas on all things smoked, grilled, cured, etc.  Looking forward to your input around here, and just ask when you need something...someone will surely have the answer.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

How Do Russ. Seem to be getting quite a few Q'rs down your part of the country, have you checked out the UK section ?

If the I phone apps don't work out, I'm sure there could be a market for a snorkel system to bolt onto barbies down your way if this flooding continues !

Graeme.

Heh heh,

Not too bad where I am at the moment with floods, probably spoke too soon there!

@ wade - heh heh, you may be able to see the cool blue smoke from where you are ;)

@smoking monkey  - Uni's interesting - a lot of them like to work with physical projects with connected devices (internet of things) . I was really interested in hooking up to the iGrill and making a more ' low and slow' friendly app, but they are not willing to allow third party apps to connect. So I am looking to do a some handy things around timings as well as recording cooks and ratings etc
