  1. Hello to all,

I suppose at 71yrs. of age, I should refrain from taking on a new task that would tax my old brain and body, especially since my wife of 51yrs, has done all the cooking. One of my grandsons would tell you, that, I would have trouble boiling water and end up burning it! However, I recently purchased a charcoal grill and just ordered and picked up a Masterbuilt 30in. digital electric smoker. My wife and I live in East Tennessee, USA. and maybe the fresh mountain air has affected my senses, but I don't care! I look forward to soaking up some of the great information posted on this forum and I thank you for allowing me to do so. I have a lot to learn and, hopefully not, a short time to learn it!

Welcome from SC. It's sure good to have you on this great site. You're only 1 year older than I am, so enjoy this wonderful and relaxing hobby. Don't worry about learning. Remember, we can always eat our mistakes. Where in East TN are you? That's some beautiful country.

Good luck and good smokin', Joe
  4. Thank you, DukeBurger, for the welcome and the info!
  5. Thank you, Joe. It does appear to be a great site and I look forward to learning and enjoying the fruits of my labor. We live in Sneedville, Tn. which is close to the Cumberland Gap area. Oh, and by the way, I've become used to "eating my mistakes" (sigh)!
