She is ready to build a fire and find out everything that needs fixed. That has been a fun tiring build. We went over budget about $500 which $200 of that was wheels/tires and was not expecting $175 in paint. We have $1969.00 to date and 73 hours labor. I mostly worked on this myself with a few hours help from a kid that works for me. Thanks to SMF peeps for all the help and info without that no way would I have taken on this project.

She lives! Shut the FB door at noon and temp are steadily raising we are at 215 on both thermometers after a hour. Plan to get up to 350-400 temps and let it go for a few hours. Then we will rinse cc and start the seasoning.

Not painting until next week. I am not painting anything on the inside. Used fire place rope gasket to seal doors.

We burnt oak mostly until it was time to season then mixed in hickory. I have 2 gallons of high temp 850 degree paint from Sherman Williams coming next week

That's not a bad price for two gallons, can you share a pic of the label once you get it? I used to have an account with them years ago and from what I remember, the cooker paint wasn't too bad. Just they never had it in stock.

I've been using Rustoleum for years now due to instant availability, and best value for the dollar. But I've been trying to find something in a higher gloss that will give better stain resistance and hold up to the Florida Sun better. House of color had something promising, but is $90.00 a quart.
