I was playing around with a few injection ideas the other day and went with the one below. Oh my goodness was it good. The pork had a nice sweetness to it but had a lot of natural pork flavor. Let me know what you guys think

I modified Chris Lillys Injection

1 cup apple juice

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup white sugar

1/4 cup salt

2 tablespoon lemonade

Cooked at 250 until 165 IT then wrapped in 3 layers of heavy duty foil very tightly. Cooked until IT of 190. Once it hit 190 IT I injected again with a mix of apple juice, peach syrup (from can of peaches), and a touch of lemonade. I heated this up very hot in a microwave first. Continues to cook until 200 IT. I think I have found my injection from here on in.

Never would have thought to inject it again once it got close to the 200 threshold.  God I love this site and everyone's crazy good ideas!   Will definitely put this on my list to try!

That sounds very interesting. I can see the lemonade giving it a nice tang.

I've been using a recipe similar to that except I use soy sauce and Worchestershire instead of the lemonade.

1 cup Apple Juice

1 cup Water

1/2 cup Dark Brown Sugar

1/2 cup Salt

1 TBS Soy Sauce

1 TBS Worcestershire Sauce

Now, you didn't specify...did you use fresh lemonade, or something like Country Time mix?

Also, I wonder how a couple of tablespoons of Country Time lemonade mix would work in the rub?

Michael

I used fresh lemonade from a small bottle. I am liking the idea of using it in the rub. I dont know how well it would work but I am def. going to find out.
