New member from a little drinking town with a fishing problem. Eager to get started with SMF. Gonna try out a older cookshack, ( soon as the power is in). Would like to try cherry pulled pork, any suggestions ?

Ditch the cherry and use kiawe!!! ;)

I live in holualoa. Let me know if you're interested in putting together a mini. You can get the pot from KTA. Walmart or HD have the SJS or you can pick up a SJG from airgas...

 Braddah, I am in fact from there. Born n raised. Got yur thoughts on kiawe, but I think I wanna try a diff avenue.I think I wanna try something more unique, as you know , select woods are a abnormality around here. But.......thinkin bout guava. Any thoughts ? Or perhaps we should discuss this over a foamy elixer.

Konawaena grad here!!! I use guava all the time; it's suppose to be very similar to Apple wood.i also like ohia wood for beef.

I took a truck load of guava and ohia to my BIL yesterday for his imu and fire pit...

LMK if you want any guava I get choke!

Did you buy that cookshack that was on Craigslist?

BTW, if you insist on cherry I have some pellets! I also have pecan, hickory and pitmasters blend (60% hickory, 20% maple and 20% cherry). I also have a 12" and a 18" amnts....
