First...Happy Fathers Day to all fathers and Grandpas.

Last weekend I posted that I did my seasoning of my new smoker and today is the day for the first smoke.

I have read and did my homework on smoking pork ribs and I have a question on seasoning.

Once I have my rub on the ribs and ready to go in the smoker can I use a mopping sauce instead of spraying apple juice on them to keep moist?

I really do not like apple juice........If I use a mopping sauce will my rub come off my ribs??  or can I smoke them for the 6 hours and not use anything, or would they turn into pork leather[IMG]

Any and all advice would be great...thanks Brew Dude

Maybe since it's fathers day my sweet wife will try and post some photos on here later today........I do not have a clue on how to do that yet..maybe she will teach me today

Personally I wait 1-1.5 hours before spritzing/mopping my ribs. You can use pretty much whatever you want for a spritz/mop
