Good morning,

I have been scouring this website and others trying to find the best smoker for my needs, I use an offset now, but want to get into something a little less time consuming, hopefully.  I have settled on the Masterbuilt 40", but have two questions before I head to the stores.

1)  I need the space to smoke 2 pork shoulders and 2 briskets at the same time, is this unit large enough for this or is it too large and   the 30" would work?

2)  I ran across another post which mentioned a GS40D and said it was a double door.  I cannot find any other real reference to this unit.  I would like a double door, that's for sure, but since I can't find any information I thought someone could shed some light on the subject.  Had a model # of 20050114.

Thanks and a great forum

Scott

You should look for a MES 40 Model # 20070311 1st Gen All Stainless Smoker. It is a bit bigger than the Masterbuilt 2 door Gasser. You should be able to get the amount of meat you need  cooked, as long as the Butts are not huge 10 lbs or less...JJ
