Hello all from Nebraska.  I have been smoking for a few years on the Smoke N Pit and I am about to start a build.  I found this site while looking for ideas.  So I'll be asking some questions!  I actually just purchased my "cooking chamber" yesterday and I am anxious to get and "idea" as to where I am going to go with the build.  Vertical, horizontal, placement of fire box, gas or charcoal?  Here is the "box" it's a 105 gal propane tank.  I really enjoy cooking and also compete in chili cook off's as well.  I just love to be outside cooking!

So bear with me in my questions!  Thanks, and I'm glad to be here!

With that tank, if you don't mind a suggestion.

Square up the fire box side to reduce the effects of radiant heat from the heat hammering the top of the firebox.

If you have some of the top of the firebox inside the smoke chamber, you will have a significant hot spot to deal with.
