A Mile High Hello

Discussion in 'Roll Call' started by tobywan, Mar 15, 2007.

  1. I used an old Brinkman a few years ago but have gotten by with my grill the last couple of years for what small stuff I have done. I know just about enough to get myself in trouble so will welcome any help you'all can give. I'm looking at building a smoker modeled after Peoria Custom Cookers backyard model, "all you need is time & money" and in my case a lot of advise from compassionate, in the know, onlookers aka you guys. Between that, building a 72 High Boy with my son and keeping up with 2 Grand Kids I think I'll be able to keep busy this summer.

  18. Welcome to SMF.
Those Peoria Custom Cookers are nice, but a bit pricey. You aught to be able to build one for 1/4 of that with options, if you do ALL the metal work yourself. I suspect these smokers are so high because the labor involved in welding. I doubt many are robotically welded, so someone has to spend a bunch of time doing it.
