Went to a local cook off sponsored by http://www.chautauquawinery.com/.

No pros were allowed so K-Dog (Raptor) sent in the talented and well trained back up team.

His lovely wife Lorie Ann and the Cheese-Dog..(our own Cheesy)

Tight rules...nothing done offsite...brines or rubs etc.

We went with the family and I shot the bull with the Dogs and the family toured the place and drank some free wine.

The local fire dept was BBQing food to sell.

Mrs K-Dog and her kin getting the chicken ready to turn in.

    Cheese-Dogs chicken and ribs.

We didn't hang around long enough to see or try the ribs or hear the judging.

K-Dog just called and told me the scores!!

Lori Ann got first place chicken, second place ribs and runner up to Grand Champion!!!!

Cheese-Dog got first ribs, fourth chicken and Grand Champion!!!!!

There were at least 20 teams there so this is a major accomplishment and I am very proud of my neighbors.

Not only that..they also happen to be part of the SMF family.

    Have a great day!!

Thanks for posting the fun day we had neighbor,

With my limited puter access these days it's hard for me to keep up with the goings on here at SMF much less my

ability to keep everyone up to date on the smokin' scene here in the panhandle.

We had a great time and it was nice to see you and meet the family.

Congrats to my wife and my (right hand man) Cheez for representing "Poverty Hill Smokers" very well!

They put in a lot of hard work for the team and this time they got to show what they have learned

    by competing against each other.

They are both winners in my book, and proved it to all the others today.

After all, you have to be the best to roll with "Poverty Hill" [IMG]

Congrats to my team mates, they did a great job [IMG]

    Congrats to the backup team!

Better watch out Rap, looks like you may have some competition.

Sounds like a great time was had by all.

When are you going to give it a try Craig?

  6. Congrats to all. Sounds like it was a fun day.

I would just love to go walk around and look at all the

    good food.

    Happy Smokin'

He doesn't have any competition there Al, it's his family.

It always makes me very happy to see all them working together, they do it at home like this too....The Poverty Hill crew rocks!!

I don't care to do any comp kinda thing with food. I am happy being the photog!!

      Have a great day!!
