Yesterday when I was rummaging through the freezer I found one last chunk of Brisket that I had Hidden. So today I got er out and warmed it up in a pot of boiling water, Had enough for me and my wife a big sandwich and enough left for my grandson when he gets in from work.

Warming in the boiling water

You can see it still looks just like it did when I vac sealed it

Wife wanted chopped so I did enough for both of ours.

Sorry no sandwich pics, Got hungry and forgot till it was too late.

Sure was good though

Thanks for looking

Gary that looks great.

Every time I freeze brisket or pastrami, I always slice it first.

After seeing yours I'm going to do as you did & freeze it in one piece.

Then decide what to do with it when it is thawed.

I sent a point your way for the education!

Thanks Al, Yeah I always just freeze a chunk, then you can decide later on. Vac sealing and warming this way taste and smells like you just brought it in from the smoker.

Gary, I followed your advice some time ago and I always freeze a hunk now as well along with a little bag of burnt ends.

Nice little gems to find when freezer diving!

I really gotta start cooking briskets.

Looks great

Way to go Gary.  Left over brisket is the best!  Great for some Texas Red, Soup, Tacos and of course sammies!  Point! Brian

Thanks  Brian     Love that leftover Brisket

Quick question on the reheat.  Is the water a rolling boil or a simmer and how long does it usually take?  Was it from a frozen state that you put it in the boiled water or did you let it thaw in the fridge?  Much appreciated. Just trying to avoid the microwave for my leftovers!

Hey, good questions  I have done them both ways. This one was right out of the freezer. Yes a rolling boil  I left it in there about an hour to an hour and a half  It was plenty hot.

Really don't like to Nuke any leftover BBQ  to me it just doesn't taste the same and the texture is different.
