Thanks Dan,

Here are a few more photos. Looks like progress is slow but I am down to the smaller, time consuming details now. Planning to have it ready to smoke a few briskets this weekend.

Finished up the counterweights. At first, I didn't care for the counterweighted look, but after seeing how well they work I wouldn't have it without them.

Mounted some pretty big stacks to the warming box. Damper door is on the inside. I'll try to get some better pictures of the inside mechanism later.

you.....? im anxiouse for the Q view!

Lit the first match this weekend and the performance was awesome. Only uses 1 split of wood about every hour to keep the temps around 225-230. Didn't get many q-view pics this time. Hope to take a few more after the cooker is finished up. Hopefully sandblasting and paint this week.

This fire was just to get the pit up to temp and build up some coals. Doesn't take near this much wood/fire to cook with.

Burnt ends, ribs, brisket, and pork butts

Good Day to you!

In this picture of your RF plate it almost looks like is is curving up.  When I built mine we used 1 1/2 angle in the middle for a run off. How do you find the flat plate cleans up and/or holds the drippings.  Even in a reverse flow I find the end by the fire box will scorch the drippings if I am not careful.

It is a beautiful machine. I wish I had your talent and shop to work on mine.
