5 Yardbirds @ $0.64/lbs on the Drum
In an effort to eat a little healthier, and save a couple bucks, I thought I’d cook up a couple birds to shred and food save for some meals over the next couple weeks.
To my surprise, Frys had a sale goin on for Foster Farms chix. Advertised @ $0.67/lbs. I went to buy a few, and the people there had crossed out $0.67 and wrote in $0.64/lbs (I guess they were in a bidding war w/ Albertsons).
It was limit 2, but i picked up 3, and my wife picked up 2 with her card.
Here’s 2 of them. Decent sized

Seasoned up w/ some Fresh & Easy white meat seasoning. And the one on the left got only Plowboys Yardbird

On the drum. Just enough room to keep air flow between them. Had to go lower rack only.

4 deep…I was a little tired of shredding at this point

Saved the 10 chix breasts, and 2 thighs. Shredded the rest for the food saver

They were on the drum for about 4 hours @ 265. I should have got the deflector installed before this cook, but I just ran out of time. I was hoping to use the Mad Hunky brine as well, but the time frame I would have brined them in wouldnt have done them justice. Will update posts w/ their end results.
