Currently using my Oblong Charcoal Grill, until I can get my smoker. Placing meat on one side and coal on other side.

My first try was a briskett and this was 100% sucessful, tender with great flavor.
Second up was a Rib Roast for Christmas Dinner, another 100% sucess.
Third was a small goat hindquarter, fail fail fail, was very tough not good.
Four try was this weekend smoked two whole chickens, wow what a win.

So really looking forward to getting my smoker but currently I'm making it work and learning.

Glad it is mostly going your way

A little late, Bullfrog. But welcome. I'm sure you will enjoy this site. Everyone is ready to offer their help. My advice for now is to stick with the chicks and let the goats fall where they may. Also, be careful whenever someone orders froglegs.

Good smoking, Joe
