Ok quick question I have my holes drilled and hardware ready to put in after I clean out, already burned it. But I read where somebody just used one ball valve and had the other 2 3/4 in nips capped. Is this what I should do, just have one valve and leave other 2 capped?

Frosty, morning......  1 ball valve is all you need.....   If the temp don't get high enough with the valve fully open, open one of the other caps and partially close the ball valve....  Still not high enough, open the last cap and control with the valve....

For a nice low temp the three 3/4" holes is just plenty. One ball valve and two capped. .
I have gone back to mine and redid my vents so I can cook at higher temps (300-350*) if I need to. Great for chickens.
I have two 3/4" ball valves amd two 1" capped. If I wanna run slow and low my two ball valves are the only ones I usually need to open and adjust. And of I wanna crank the temp up, remove the 1" caps amd it will shoot up..
    Hope that helps
