3...2...1....spares! Q-View!

  1. Here's the latest venture. First time with spares and I trimmed them st. louis style. Turned out OK at best. Rubbed with kosher, brown sugar, sugar in the raw, cayanne, chili pepper, black pepper, and onion powder. Glazed with bbq sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and apple juice.

    It seemed like under the top layer of meat there was still alot of fat to be rendered. Definitely not my best try. I like them with some tug and they were falling off the bone. Oh well, live and learn, that's what smokin's all about.

    Man, I am making those right now for the first time. I hope mine taste half as good as yours look! If they do I'm in business.
     
  5. They are nice looking ribs. I am getting 2 racks ready today to smoke tomorrow when I get off work. I am hoping they work out and look good.

  8. Hey, those things look great!

    If you think they were too tender, consider doing a 3-1-1 smoke. It does look like they pulled back a little much to have any kind of a bite while eating them. But, i bet they were delicious and extremely tender. Great smoke, let us know how you adjust your time and how your next results turn out. Good luck, Greg

    Great looking ribs. I just did a rack yesterday and I did 4-1-1 and they were perfect as I like them with a little bite as well. The bone comes clean as too. When I did the 3-2-1 the meat was falling off the bone but was still very good...
     
  10. They look great! I like mine tender and fallin off the bone, but that's a personal preference. Grandpa always did his that way, so I guess I just learned that ribs were made that way. Yall fixem the way you like um, cause that's why we do it!

    I think they look excellent. Nice work!

    Brother tem ribs look GOOD!!! Some like them falling off, some like them with a little tug, I JUST LIKE RIBS!!!! any way I can get them. And I sure would of liked to have gotten a couple of yours!!
