1. How much of a gap should be between the end of the RF plate and the end of the cooking chamber( as in how long should the RF plate be)?

2. Does it matter how thin the metal is for the RF plate?

I'm converting a very old (still in good shape) brinkmanship offset to a reverse flow. At least I'm going to attempt it.

Thanks in Advance

Hello sela86,

The opening at the end of the RF plate should be at least as big as the firebox to cook chamber opening.

Typically the RF plate is 1/4 inch. 3/16 is as thin as I would go.

Hope this helps.
