Ok, I've been wanting to try this for a while... and I picked up a used brinkmen a while back but havn't used it yet. So I decided to try both today. the temp gague on it has no numbers but says, warm-ideal-hot. I have it just into the on the low end of ideal. Great thin smoke coming out. Everything looks like it should turn out great.
 
good luck with your smoke-u can't go by that temp guage,they never work.you need to get yourself a couple probes-1 for smoker temp and 1 for the meat,hang out in here and you will learn ALOT-welcome to SMF.
 
I added 2 digital gages. 1 in the bird at 138 now after 4 1/2 hours and the other at 199. Great smoke now. I added some ABT's too.
