after years of toying with the idea of building a small smokehouse I finally put together something that i can build off of.

the shiplath shell is 34x27x61 is temporaily sitting on cinderblocks and fired with Charcoal.    After Smoking a slab of bacon and pork ribs i can see that this will be a never ending project, and one that i'll have to spend a lot of time with perfecting my technique.  I think the first couple of mods will be a more accessible firebox and heat baffles....   Then there's the metal roof, insulation, stain

LMAO!,

 Welcome to the addiction!!!!

I wish I was a little more handy at doing those types of projects. I think it is really neat to be able build and modify along the way to get it just the the way you want. Nice Job!

Well I added a Char Griller - Side Fire Box to use as an indirect heat source and i'm hoping that when it gets to be a little cooler outside it should double as a cold smoker.  though i suppose i could throw a 8ft piece of duct in between to cool the smoke.   hopefully  i'll get the tin roof on tomorrow. as its suppse to rain monday.

Im'm still up in the air as to whether or not i need to/should stain the outside.
