So I've always loved the idea of converting a panel truck into a smoker. I figure firebox under hood and smokebox in the back. Obviously not drivable but would be a beautiful focal piece in my yard. How hard would something like this be? Anyone ever heard of such a thing. Ill post more pictures of what trucks and drawings later in the day. For now I'm gonna lay back and dream of bbq. Cheers.

Saw an ad for a show the other day where a guy turns an old Mercury (I think) into a smoker, so it's at least possible. I'd think your best bet would be to hollow it out and build an actual smoker inside the cavity. I like your idea of firebox under the hood and smoker in the body.

Ill try to sit down and draw up plans but I have a methed up 2 year old so it might take sometime. Ill be sure to keep everyone posted. And ask for pointers when I get stumped. I love these forums. Cheers

i got away for enough time to do a quick draft drawing. like i said firebox is under hood into cab. i was thinking of double reverse flow. the darker parts of the cooking chamber are damper plates.
anyone got any ideas or suggestions feel free to send them my way. cheers
