So this is my first build and I’m sure I’ll mess stuff up but here goes.

150 gallon propane tank 24x83
Going to be double door with a plenum over the firebox for the stack. For the tank picked up and got the firebox cut today. Going to fab up the firebox tomorrow.

Question. How much space needs to be between the reverse flow plate and the cooking grate? I think I cut out too much tank.

For a little done on the firebox today.

Some more done today. Doors and hinges. Broke a bit off drilling the hinge so slowed us down a bit

I've been wanting one of those for portability to run on 120 but use gas .How's the "Handler" handling what you're doing?
So far not too bad. Most of this tank is 3/16th but it’s handling it alright. If I had money to buy again I’d get the convertible 120/230 machine

Bad news. We decided to do a straight through. So this is now technically in the wrong place lol

Looks good. Are you going to mount it on wheels? I guess being in the country just weld some lifting hooks on it and use a front end loader to move it in or outdoors. I would run it standard offset also as it looks a bit long for a RF cooker.
I am going to build 3 trailers in offset with basically the same size tank soon.
Thanks for sharing!

What in meat blazes made you decide to abandon a superior working RF?
Time was one thing, but there were mistakes made and I will be sending this pit to another person after its mounted. I am going to take the proceeds and tweak the design and make a better Reverse flow on the next one. Had a ton of fun on this and learned a lot or what and what NOT to do.

Cool,weld on....
