Pros - Alarm function on temp., probes are replaceable.Silicone wire is a good length.
Cons - Probe can short, but ....
They are easy to use and the alarm is a lifesaver.

Probes are replaceable, but some epoxy putty on the wire/probe joint makes 'em liquid proof, too !

So far so good under some demanding conditions. I've had 3-4 other brands that now reside in junk heaven ...

Pros - Accurate temp, loud temp alarm
Cons - Timer only counts down...needs to also count up so you can time your smoke.
Not a bad thermo, keeps pretty accurate time...have owned it for 1 year. Easy on the batteries too.
