    Deep fryer

Yes sir I seen it and appreciate the response. In the past I haven’t had very good luck with analog thermometers so I wanted to try digital, also it will be used with my smoker once I get off my butt and build it

    Deep fryer

Thanks guys I wasn’t for sure if it was possible or not. My main objective was to keep an eye on oil temp before and during the cook. If I could have kept probe in the bird while cooking that would have been a plus. While frying a bird in this fryer, the bird lays on its back, and the breast...

    Deep fryer

Good morning folks. I have a question about thermometers that hopefully some of y’all can help with. I have a R&V deep fryer that I use a good bit. I have found that the thermometer it came with is about 25deg or so off, which is no big deal for the most part. I would like to get a...

Could use a little help please

Alright guys here is what I've came up with so far. Can y'all please check over my numbers and help with the FB/CC opening. The pipe I'll be using is 19.1875 ID I'll be using 3/8 plate as the end caps, welded directly to the end so it won't change the length any CC= 48"Long= 13,879.343 VCI...

Could use a little help please

Thanks Mr.Dave. I was under the impression it would need to be a certain inside diameter, and a certain length in order to draft/work correctly. I figured to small of a ID would choke it back, but also thought to big of an ID would cause issues as well. Now that I think about it... maybe it...

Could use a little help please

Thanks Mr.Dave. I used that tutorial to get my numbers earlier, in hopes that it would be the same numbers for a side firebox and a reverse flow. When I get back to the house I will post everything I came up with to make sure I didn't miss anything. I won't be able to post the numbers for my...

Could use a little help please

Hey guys I'm sure these questions have already been answered a few times but I can't seem to find them. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. I'm getting ready to build a side firebox smoker. I used the formula for a reverse flow smoker to get my numbers, even though it won't be a...

    Frying sausage?

Hum... after reading that article, now I need to check my grinder out. This grinder is at least 20 years old... probably older, so I'm sure there's worn parts. Also, I do like your idea with the pvc. I've got something similar for filling 8" vacuum seal bags, so I can keep the sides from...

    Frying sausage?

So technically it's sitting in melted ice, but when I drain it there might be 1-2 gallons of water that comes out if that It's usually a 120qt cooler with 50-100lbs of meat the rest is completely full of ice

    Frying sausage?

The drain was only open when I would drain the bloody water out of the cooler. The process we have always used for wild game along with everyone else I know without a walk in cooler around here is Quarter or debone the meat after you skin it, put the meat in a cooler full of ice for 5-7 days...

    Frying sausage?

I didn't add any water to it. Just cut the pork into strips and chunks, put the seasoning on, mixed real well, then ground it up,once that was completed i vacuum sealed in bags and stuck it in the freezer. The meat was wet from being in a cooler full of ice though

    Frying sausage?

Thanks guys I'm going to try drying them and if that doesn't work then I'll try the SPC I will also try the 1/2-1/2 dies as well

    Frying sausage?

Yes sir the meat seems to be "pretty wet" when I cut the bag open. Maybe I should try to dry it off some and see what happens. How would you suggest I go about doing so? Lay paper towels on it with a little pressure to absorb the water? I do have some of those round bags that take the tape...

    Frying sausage?

Thanks guys... I do have a smaller die, and I'll be grinding some more today so I'll give that a try. Tallbm, your post made me think of a few things that I didn't add from the beginning that I should have. We vacuum seal the sausage in 8x8 or 11x8 inch bags, give or take an inch or two. Once...

    Frying sausage?

Been running into some issues when frying... pan pork sausage, and could use yalls input/help on how to correct it. Here's what I've got. Wild hog that I've processed myself. Not for sure the size die that I'm grinding through but the holes are probably the size of a pencil maybe a little...
